InfoCat Customer Day 2017

InfoCat's Annual Customer/TM1 Open Day took place on Thursday, 12 October at the IBM Client Centre in London.

We were delighted to welcome a large audience, with a mix of our existing clients and businesses new to TM1 and Planning Analytics.  With the latest product updates, and a dedicated stream for delegates new to TM1, the senior Finance managers in attendance received timely insights into improving their performance management processes.

IBM’s Director of Global Business Analytics Sales, Giovanni Carraro, got us started with a presentation on the ‘Analytics Lifecycle’, describing how you can create new opportunities from unexpected insights.  He stressed the importance of looking beyond the numbers you first see, to understand how incomplete, incorrect or misleading data can distort the reported position.

Our MD Stephen Waters then examined 2017’s market and technical trends before delegates split into two streams:

  • Existing TM1 users received an update on the latest product enhancements and other news, including a look at the latest release of Planning Analytics. 
  • Those new to TM1 attended "Beyond Spreadsheets", where for an overview on the perils of relying on spreadsheets for budgeting, reporting and forecasting, and how to stay ahead of the competition with Planning Analytics. 

The afternoon sessions included an in-depth look at the TM1 road map, presented by Dave Corbett live from IBM’s US office, followed by a demo of Watson Analytics for Social Media (WASM).  Finally delegates enjoyed hands on test drives for Planning Analytics for Excel (PAX) and Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW).

It was great catching up with both old faces and new, and overall the day was a great success. Thanks to all attendees for making it such an effective and enjoyable event.
